MOGENSEN Selected as Official Supplier
for China’s Food Security Initiative
MOGENSEN joins China's food security project as an official supplier, supporting the nation's plans to strengthen domestic grain production capabilities. The appointment by COFCO, China's largest state-owned agricultural company, includes the deployment of multiple precision screening systems for processing rice, wheat and soybeans, among other grains. This long-term initiative is in line with China's new food security law, which went into effect on June 1, 2024.
The Double Flow MSizer at the heart of this project, processes grain at 300 metric tons per hour while maintaining precise classification standards. The system's compact and modular design allows for fast installation within existing grain facilities, while its optimized power consumption reduces operating costs. These technical specifications met COFCO's requirements for efficient, large-scale grain processing capabilities.
A strategic national initiative.
The contract comes as China implements its Food Security Law, which took effect on June 1, 2024. The law reinforces the government's strategy to reduce reliance on grain imports and modernize domestic food production. As part of the 2024-2035 Food Security Plan, China is stepping up efforts to increase grain consumption efficiency, strengthen domestic supply chains, and improve grain quality.
COFCO: The engine behind the project.
COFCO (China Oil and Foodstuffs Corporation), the state-owned enterprise leading this initiative, stands as China's largest food processor, producer and trader. Since 1949, COFCO has built an agricultural network across 140 countries. The company's integrated capabilities in logistics, food processing, and agricultural research strengthen China's domestic grain production and distribution systems, supporting the nation's self-reliance objectives.
MOGENSEN is proud to contribute to this strategic push for food self-sufficiency, supplying high-performance screening technology that promotes processing reliability, food safety, and grain quality. This collaboration represents a major step forward in optimizing food supply chains while supporting China’s vision of a sustainable and self-reliant agricultural sector.
