At JOEST, we always focus on efficiency and reliability when it comes to successfully implementing complex projects. A current example of this is the full modernization of a green sand line at our long-standing partner Fritz Winter – and that in an impressively short time.
In February, JOEST secured an order for the delivery of a specialized 15-meter-long vibrating conveyor for a Serbian producer of sugar products. This machine is an integral part of the production process, conveying freshly centrifuged sugar with a throughput of up to 70 tons per hour at a moisture content of 0,2-0,4% and a product temperature of about 65°C.

A recent example is our collaboration with HYDROTEC Technologies AG, an internationally operating company with over 50 years of experience and a clear vision: to continuously improve.
The EuroBLECH 2024 has come to an end, and we would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who visited us at Hall 7, Stand T24. It was an extremely successful event for the JOEST group, where we had the opportunity to showcase our latest innovations in lifting and tipping systems. Our brand GOESSLING also showcased its advanced solutions in conveying technology.
This innovative conveying solution with dimensions of 1950 mm wide and 2640 mm long sets new standards in the processing of moist and fine-grained waste slag. For a rust-ash processing system from Eggersmann Anlagenbau, JOEST installed a modern OSCILLA FlexFeed flip flow feeder.
The Berfus Info Exchange 2024 in Nottuln at the Liebfrauenschule was a complete success for us at JOEST and a great opportunity to get in touch with many committed young people. As an internationally active company, we are always happy to introduce young talents to our diverse training and career opportunities.
The Hey Job Apprentice Bus Tour 2024, which took place on October 10, was a complete success. Pupils from secondary schools in Dülmen had the opportunity to visit a total of 14 local companies on five different routes. The tour was organized by the City of Dülmen’s business development department and offered pupils in the 9th and 10th grades an ideal opportunity to introduce themselves directly to companies and gain an insight into various training occupations.

EXHIBITION JOEST group at DMEXCO 2024 – Staying Up-to-Date with Digital Marketing Trends
Following successful progress in the expansion of our JOEST plant in Dülmen-Buldern, the employees of GOESSLING, which operates as a brand under the JOEST group, can now leave the Schermbeck plan. With the move into our new administration building and the construction of the stainless steel center, we are ready for the next steps. The relocation of the employees is imminent, and for this reason the Schermbeck plant will be closed for good on December 31, 2024.
On Sunday, the #JOESTeam participated in the Münster Marathon with three relay teams – alongside over 11,000 runners. At JOEST, it’s not just about professional excellence but also about tackling challenges together as a team. The marathon was the perfect opportunity to demonstrate that spirit.
We are very pleased to announce that, as part of the construction of our fourth administrative building, we have also opened our new JOEST Bistro. The doors are already open for our #JOESTeam, offering a cozy place to enjoy breakfast together or to relax during lunch breaks.

Some of our apprentices were on an exciting educational trip on the invitation of IG Metall. Together, they examined work and training life closely.
JOEST delivered two high-performance vibrating feeder including tunnel frame, discharge chute and needle gate, each one feeding gabbro up to an edge length of 700 mm as a free stockpile discharge. Our focus was on a robust, blockage-free, wear-optimized and installation-friendly design.
Under the motto #JOESTogether, we organized for the first time an EM pack-watching on our site. It was a fantastic event where we celebrated our community and team spirit.
On the occasion of the farewell of the long-serving managing director, the entire staff of JOEST organized a collective fundraising campaign for the nearby children’s hospice Gut Feismann. A total of over 1,200 euros was collected by the #JOESTeam and ultimately rounded up to 3,500 euros by the management.

A significant chapter in the history of the JOEST group, a global leader in vibration technology and mechanical engineering, was opened on May 22, 2024, in a ceremonial event. Dr. Hans Moormann, who has successfully led the company as Managing Partner for over 25 years, passed the reins to the next generation.

With effect from July 1, 2024, the JOEST group will sell the MSort sorting systems product line to Cologne-based sorting specialist STEINERT.
Until now, the MSort systems have been marketed by MOGENSEN Germany, a subsidiary from Wedel near Hamburg, that has been part of the JOEST group since January. In addition to the German subsidiary, MOGENSEN Spain and MOGENSEN Sweden are also part of the JOEST group. MOGENSEN is globally known for its brands MSizer and MSort as well as other screening and sorting technology solutions.

After an extraordinary journey spanning over two decades, Ian Laws, Co-Founder and Managing Director of JOEST Australia, is stepping into a new chapter in his life.
His indomitable spirit and dedication have been instrumental in building and shaping the biggest subsidiary in the JOEST group.
I’m a process engineer. My education began in the field of process engineering and later evolved into chemical technology. However, chemistry was never really my thing; I preferred to focus on process technology. At the beginning of my career, I worked for a detergent manufacturer and was involved in bulk material processing.
We can look back on an overall successful year in the JOEST group, during which we achieved, improved, and developed a lot. With these positive developments and optimism, we would like to look forward to the new year.
JOEST delivered several types of machines from its product portfolio for castings for a customer‘s complete system. To simplify and enhance the original process of storing casting parts in boxes for the cooling process, a JOEST Casting Cooler was installed downstream the existing shakeout.
For foundry melt shops the challenges start at the beginning with charging cars. Generally used to provide scrap, virgin ore and alloys to the charge furnace, they must be designed around each customer’s particular type of materials, furnace interface and processes.

JOEST vibrating screens are essential equipment for classifying and dewatering contaminated soil. Four vibrating screens were specifically designed for our long-time Belgian customer. In addition to the three dedicated dewatering screens, a two-deck screen for classifying and dewatering was also delivered earlier this year. A unique feature is the upper deck, which has various inclinations. These different inclinations ranging from 5 to 0 degrees have a positive impact on the final screening outcome. With steep throw angles and high accelerations, very low residual moisture levels are achieved. Another crucial aspect is the special PU screen panels that contribute to efficiently dewatering the soil and achieving the desired classification and dewatering effects.

Just three short years ago, we moved to our fantastic bespoke premises, and we have been pleasantly surprised by the pace of our progress. The influx of exciting new projects, coupled with an increasing order book of refurbishments and spare parts has stretched our production facilities to the max, prompting the need for expansion. The good news is that we’ve secured additional workshop space in the neighbouring building, affording us an extra 2,000 square meters of rented space. This addition will provide some much-needed relief, allowing us to keep pace with our growing demands. At Blechexpo 2023, the JOEST group presented innovative solutions in sheet metal processing for the first time as an exhibitor at this industry-leading event with the GOESSLING brand.
The contract manufacturer Driessen Food Extrusion, based in Deurne in the Netherlands, processes mixed and powdered plant-based proteins into high-quality intermediates for the Food Industry.
To expand production, JOEST supplied a new drying system. It was designed in close collaboration with the client to meet the special requirements of a contract manufacturer in the Food Industry. The drying system, consisting of a Fluidized Bed Dryer with a process- , heating- , cooling- and exhaust air system as well as a Spiral Conveyor, was already installed this summer. The scope of delivery also included the system controls (control cabinet, control panel, etc.) from JOEST’s in-house Control Technology.
With reinforced belt and stamped hinges, the GOESSLING Hinge Belt Conveyor solves the previously existing problems in conveying stamping scrap at the customer’s site. To ensure that the parts no longer damage the belt and that a gentle feed is achieved, a special feed chute was designed. The conveyor rotates to both sides in order to feed and unload the parts in the best possible way. A swivel chute is also used at the front so that the rear containers are fed optimally.

In his search for sponsors for his participation in the World Swimming Championships in Japan, the 25-year-old student has found a positive response at JOEST. The Lifting and Tipping device with a bearing capacity of 250 kg automatically identifies the intake height with a sensor system. The container with measurements of 600 x 800 mm are stacked on a rolling frame, from which the Lifting & Tipping device picks the container on top.

On the occasion of the first apprentice day, the doors opened for many potential new apprentices.
We had about 400 visitors that day, 184 of whom were potential new apprentices. The visitors could learn something about the company during on of the company tours.
The high requirements of waste to energy plants as well as systems with low energy demands are no novelty for JOEST.
With these resonance conveyors for Hitachi Zosen Inova, the material can optionally be fed to another unit via an intermediate opening with integrated JOEST Grizzly Screen. Another highlight is the low drive power of only 4 kW.
This JOEST tipping machine with special design enables a low dust tipping of a 200 litre drum with 7400 mm dumping height.
To perfectly match the customer’s needs, the machine is equipped with a pneumatic system for lowering and docking to the customer’s plant.

Plant for transporting and processing waste incineration slag. PreZero Energy in Roosendaal produces electrical energy and district heating by incinerating domestic and industrial waste. In addition to the energy extraction, metals and recyclable building materials are also won from the incineration process. These materials are extracted right after the thermal process as part of the so-called waste slag and are then transported away and preprocessed. Well known characteristics of this material compound are its abrasiveness and chemical aggressiveness in combination with a high moisture content.
Despite the COVID delay, JOEST Australia celebrated 20 years since the founding in 2001 on 31st January 2023. The anniversary was postponed for 2 years, as was the factory opening after construction was completed in late 2020. Bosch Rexroth is modernizing its existing process of emptying die-casting molds by implementing a new casting-sand separation and recovery plant. Once the casts are freed from their molds, they are separated from the sand which is processed and reused. The task for JOEST was very complex. The focus was on the emptying process of the molds and to break down the sand and clean it. The sand is then returned to the casting process. On site, the machines will be placed in a space that was previously occupied by a furnace. A large chamber in which the furnace used to stand, connects the factory floor to the basement.
Hello, my name is Jonas Leufke, I am 22 years old and completed my 3-year apprenticeship as an Industrial Clerk at JOEST this year. After my apprenticeship I was hired by JOEST and am now part of the accounting team. An apprenticeship at JOEST offers a large variety of everything! I got to know 14 different departments on my way to becoming an Industrial Clerk. This gives you complete insight into an entire company and its processes from storage to controlling. A great help is the trust put forward by the colleagues: You don’t only scratch the surface. Instead, you look deep into specialized tasks of a department by yourself.
My name is Leonie, and I started my apprenticeship as an Industrial Clerk with JOEST in August 2019. After the first few formalities, I started my training at the reception. Here I built my first connections with various departments and learned about the correspondence with national and international clients, in written form and via telephone. During my apprenticeship I passed through different departments such as Accounting, HR, Sales, Marketing, Purchasing and many more. They gave me deep insight into the different processes and how they overlap. From the first day on, I received challenging tasks that I could work on by myself. If I ever had any questions, I could always count on my colleagues.
With a large-scale vaccination campaign and additional supporting measures, we did not defeat the virus, but successfully contained its negative effects to a large extent. Economic support by the government and low-cost loans by the “Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau” have enabled many companies to emerge somewhat unharmed from this crisis.
GOESSLING has worked with their client KAMAX in Hessen even prior to the acquisition by JOEST group. The KAMAX group is a leading supplier for heavy duty fasteners for the transportation industry and others. Through several projects in the past, a strong cooperation has been built. Once more, the division GOESSLING was able to convince with the right machines and its expertise and received another order. The client’s demand was to handle the discharge of screws from a thread roller into the client’s containers in a quiet and gentle fashion. An automated operation and complying to space restrictions on site were additional demands.
As a solution, GOESSLING designed and manufactured an L-shaped Hinged-Belt Conveyor with an adjustable incline. The machine has an effective width of 400 mm and an axle-base of 2.400 mm with an incline of 35 degrees.
Equipment
In recent years, JOEST Australia has increased its footprint within the Australian battery metals industry. JOEST Australia has delivered a package of 20 new machines comprising 18 different sizes and configurations, from dry scalping and sizing through to wet screening applications, to process the spodumene ore used in the conversion process to yield lithium hydroxide for the expanding battery industry. Due to the project‘s specific requirements, JOEST Australia personnel worked in close collaboration with the customer’s process design team to optimise the feeding and screening equipment used in this latest landmark greenfield project.
Eleven members, all JOEST employees, now form the new Work Council. From now on, they will represent the interests of your colleagues in front of the management. The collaboration on and drafting of work agreements as well as their coordination are also among the tasks of the Work Council team. The whole #JOESTeam wishes you a lot of success in the execution and implementation of the new tasks and thanks for the commitment.
Recently, JOEST Australia has successfully supplied and commissioned its largest single package of machines, under contract to a major iron ore supplier. This contract comprised seven double deck multi-slope screens and vibrating feeders. The customer’s iron ore processing facility is purported to be one of the most technically advanced iron ore mines in operation. The collaboration of JOEST Australia personnel with the customer’s Engineering Procurement Contract Managers (EPCM) enabled the condition monitoring for the equipment package to be integrated into the plant process control.
To dose dry ice pellets from their transportation boxes into special isolation containers, JOEST delivered a system solution to the global specialist ASCO Carbon Dioxide this year. Realistic tests at the JOEST Test Center gave insight to the handling of dry ice at extremely low temperatures – at standard pressure -78°C – and the effects it has on the equipment. This data was analyzed by product specialists at JOEST and implemented in the details of the engineering design. The client’s demand was to dose the dry ice pellets with high precision, but without destroying them. A big challenge was the large difference in temperature between the product and the environment. Varying transportation boxes on the feed end, adjustable batch sizes and intermediate storage of the box volume were additional features demanded for the system solution.
In mid-November, all employees of JOEST from the company locations Duelmen and Schermbeck were invited by the worker’s council to the works meeting. After an introduction by the chairwoman of the worker’s council Anna Riering and her representative Frank Geilmann, the managing partners Dr. Hans Moormann and Dr. Marcus Wirtz reported on the past fiscal year and the plans for 2023.
For several years, JOEST has been working on the optimization of thermal treatment plants with regard to energy consumption.The optimization of energy consumption is the main focus in thermal treatment. The JOEST Fluidized Bed Dryer is already equipped with an exhaust air heat exchanger to preheat the process air. In specific cases, the drying systems can be designed with exhaust air recirculation. In this case, the exhaust air is partially returned to the drying system after being cleaned by a filter or cyclone. This reduces the energy consumption by more than 40 %. Such measures were previously not available for the JOEST Fluidized Bed Cooler, as the warm exhaust air cannot be recycled in the cooling process itself.
Every two years, the Youth and Trainee Representation is elected. With the goal of representing the rights and interests of trainees and young people in the company vis-à-vis the management and department heads, three members are elected for the next two years: Leonie Scheffler as chairwoman supported by Simon Eigen and Jonas Oppermann. The office was gratefully accepted by them all. With motivation and ambition, the team wants to represent the interests of their colleagues in the coming years.
The JOEST Can Do Award was presented for the first time in November 2022. Based on the original company suggestion scheme, the JOEST Can Do Award was introduced for all JOEST employees.
In conventional applications, the Lifting and Tipping Device empties the bulk material in one gush, e.g. into downstream feeders. During the tipping process, blockages or damage to sensitive products can occur, due to the drop height. The latest Lifting and Tipping Devices can be fitted with an integrated dosing feeder. The feeder acts as a load pickup for the container. During the tipping process, the container empties its content slowly onto the feeder. Once the discharge position is reached, the vibratory drive is turned on to gently convey the bulk material into the downstream process. This type of feeding technique can be used for galvanized drums, sand blasting plants, packaging machines and many other applications.
For the optimization of the foundry and to improve the production process, the Bosch Rexroth AG in “Lohr am Main” is adding a third furnace to its automatic charging system which currently features two furnaces. For this project, a new furnace platform is being built in the neighboring building. The task for JOEST was to find a solution, so that the existing feed equipment for the furnace Charging Vehicles could be reused. The vehicles are fed with metal scraps and additive materials needed for the melting process, both of which are bound to their original location.
For a client from the foundry industry based in Croatia, JOEST designed and manufactured a Shakeout. Its frequency and oscillation angle can be adjusted electronically, and this design includes a downstream feeder with dual-lane discharge. The machines were delivered to Croatia during the second fiscal quarter of 2021. Commissioning is performed and overseen by JOEST and is planned for this summer. The client ‘s demand was to provide a reliable Shakeout that could handle a large spectrum of parts whilst maintaining a small form factor due to space limitations on site. The machine should separate as much sand as possible without damaging the casts made of gray cast iron and spheroidal graphite iron. The client’s molding plant type HWS EFA-SD 5 with molding boxes of 1000x920x650 mm produces a maximum of 80 molds per hour. Roughly 2000 different parts are produced, the heaviest weighing 300 kg.
Back in 2008 and 2009, JOEST delivered a total of eight large, 3,070 x 7,000 mm, Linear Vibrating Screens to their client Norsk Stein in Jelsa. Norsk Stein is Norway’s leading producer of gravel and stone materials, producing more than 15 million tons of aggregates for the entire European market. The JOEST Screens equip the secondary crushing plants with two parallel production lines for extremely abrasive granite. At a total capacity of 3,000 t/h, the material is classified from 125 mm down to 5 mm. In 2014, the plant was modified to focus more on the production of armourstone. An increased feed grain size and screen cuts of up to 220 mm became necessary. To achieve these new demands, one Linear Vibrating Screen was exchanged for a Double-Shaft Elliptical Motion Screen.
This year in September, the division GOESSLING delivered a customized conveying solution to a long-term client that once again relied on the high quality and positive user experience. When manufacturing chassis parts, stamping scrap occurs beneath the stamping press. These scrap parts must be disposed in containers. Using their experience in GOESSLING conveying technology, JOEST was able to offer the client a robust solution with excellent service. The special challenge of this project was that the stamping scrap is charged over a special chute system in the basement onto a Double-Z-Conveyor with an effective width of 625 mm. The scrap is then transferred on a reversible conveyor with the same effective width. At the the transitions, the reversible conveyor has pivoting chutes. The both pivoting slides enable the oily scraps to be distributed into three displaceable containers.

After a long break, trade fairs finally took place again this year. A personal exchange, informative discussions and numerous new contacts could be won at the IFAT in Munich, the SOLIDS in Dortmund and the POWTECH in Nuernberg. The new trade fair concept and the presentation of new products were successfully accepted. We look back on a successful trade fair year 2022 and would like to thank all visitors.

On the occasion of our third #JOESTeam day we celebrated a small Octoberfest this week in Duelmen and Schermbeck.
Dr. Hans Moormann and Dr. Marcus Wirtz did not miss the opportunity to thank the employees personally and to hand out pretzels, veal sausage and Leberkase.
In collaboration with the subsidiary JOEST China based in Peking, JOEST designed and manufactured a Vibrating Fluidized Bed Heater and Cooler for thermal processing of highly pure plastic granulate this year. Both machines fulfil different tasks and are located at different stages of the overall process. In the production process from LDPE to XLPE, granules must be heated in one processing step and cooled down in another. The Vibrating Fluidized Bed Heater with 6 m² of surface area is discontinuously operated (batch operation) and is equipped with an energy-efficient Recirculating Air Processing System. The recirculated air is tempered by an electric heater, freed from dust after running through the Fluidized Bed Heater and recirculated in the process. The product is brought to a temperature of 80-85°C at a throughput rate of 4.000 kg per hour in two batches, before being passed on to the next processing step.
On Sunday, September 11th 2022, more than 9,000 runners from 45 nations gathered infront of the “Schloss Muenster” for the annual Volksbank- Muenster-Marathon. This year, more than 1,500 relay teams participated. JOEST was also represented again by a total of eight runners. The two relay teams consisted of employees from all sorts of departments – from Sales and Apprentices to Supply Chain and Manufacturing. Both teams reached the finish line with a smile after 03:38:23 and 03:48:17 of running. For many, running is an individual’s sport, but it is even more fun with a team.
I am Simon Eigen, 21 years old and I started my apprenticeship as an Industrial Clerk at JOEST in Buldern in August 2021. I have been here for one and a half years now and had the chance to experience various departments and their workflows. After my first day of getting to know the company with a tour of the headquarters, I started my apprenticeship in the registry. After 2 months of organizing folder traffic throughout the company, I was reassigned to the reception. This was ideal to get to know my colleagues and their jurisdictions in the company. Having learned about the basic workflows, I then went on to the sales department for foundries. Besides writing offers and order confirmations, I had the opportunity to work on an experiment with aluminum dross at the JOEST Test Center. This was very interesting and gave me the chance to see JOEST machines in action. The two months here passed by very quickly and were followed by the storage facility and quality control on the shop floor.
The food manufacturer Driessen Food Extrusion located in Deurne, Netherlands processes mixed, powdered, plant-based proteins to high quality ingredients for the food industry. In order to modernize their production and increase productivity, Driessen Food Extrusion is planning to build a new production line. JOEST received a contract last month to provide large parts of this new production line. For the processing of extruded proteins and production high quality coatings, the #JOESTeam will design and manufacture a complete drying plant. The planned drying system consists of a Fluidized Bed Dryer with processing-, heating-, cooling- and used-air systems as well as a Spiral Conveyor. The system will be delivered in spring 2023.
In a further reflection of JOEST Australia’s commitment to continuous improvement, the company has now established a solid reputation in the bulk mining/scalping application as the premier Grizzly Screen manufacturer. Once again, the collaborative approach utilised by JOEST Australia personnel to address operational issues has evolved an already successful Extra Heavy Duty JOEST design to successfully screen material, with an increased feed rate from 4,000 tph to the average of 5,500 tph, and surge loads up to 6,000 tph. In addition to enhancing the machine design to process an additional 30 % feed, JOEST Australia personnel have engineered a cassette arrangement that has delivered a 57 % improvement in wear life, along with efficiency improvements required to handle the increased tonnages.
As always, the new training year starts on August, 1st and the #JOESTeam is happy to welcome eight apprentices this year. The day started in the morning with a guided tour of the factory premises and an introduction to the operational processes. This was followed by a first safety briefing for the newcomers. Exciting years are now beginning for the new apprentices, as they will be passing through different departments in the coming months to get to know the different divisions of the JOEST group as best as possible.

In July 2022, we were finally able to welcome our subsidiaries in person to our yearly technical management meeting in Germany. A great exchange of expertise, new developments and innovations in the field of construction and technology were the main focus of the two-day meeting. This has once again shown that personal meetings make communication easier and especially strengthen the sense of togetherness as well as our guiding principle.
Fresh potato pancakes, applesauce and cool drinks for the #JOESTeam: On the occasion of the second #JOESTeam day, the Managing Directors Dr. Hans Moormann and Dr. Marcus Wirtz invited all employees to fresh potato pancakes and thus said thank you for their daily commitment, dedication and team spirit.
We are looking back on a successful exhibition and informative days and would like to thank all of our visitors. We were able to have many interesting meetings and discussions, made a lot of new contacts and could present our Flip-Flow Screens of the new OSCILLA Family and the new J-Flow Air Separator very successfully. My name is Anna Bettinger, I am 14 years old and I go to the Clemens-Brentano Gymnasium in Duelmen. I did my two-week internship here at JOEST from January 17 to 28, 2022. I really enjoyed the internship, because I kept learning new things and so I never got bored. I chose this internship, because I wanted to know what an office day in marketing looks like and what kind of tasks you have there. I was also interested in how to edit and design websites or how to create flyers or logos, for example. At the beginning, it was quite exhausting to sit all day in front of a screen, but with time I got used to it. My tasks were very diversified and I really enjoyed them. My tasks included, for example, designing a flyer to recruit trainees or editing websites. I had also the chance to help cutting and editing a video.
We congratulate Jan Jasper, Sebastian Krevert, Sandor Heiß and Jannis Flossbach on successfully finishing their apprenticeship! The now former JOEST trainees were trained as construction mechanics in the last few years and have now been taken over in different departments. So they remain part of the #JOESTeam.

Just in time for the turn of the year, the logo-portfolio of the entire group receives a make-over: In addition to the internationalization of the logos, they were also slimmed down and unified. The rebranding and the waiver of the claim below our name make the logos appear lighter, more open and clearer. This way they can be used universally and will work on all platforms. Especially in external communications, the logo plays an essential role and is the figurehead of the company. The unification strengthens the brand and the entire group.
Dear clients, Dear employees, We started into this year this year optimistically, trusting that an extensive vaccination campaign would help us confront the virus in unity and all our precautions would pay off. However, the virus proved us wrong and the 4th wave has arrived. We hope that further restrictions and an increasing willingness to be vaccinated will help defeat this pandemic in the world none the less. But there is still a long and tough road ahead of us. Perhaps even a compulsory vaccination cannot be averted.
In addition to the pandemic, the supply chain situation has an increasing impact on our business. Often its only small parts, especially in the electronics sector, that delay the delivery of valuable and urgently needed machines.
Atik Metal, one of the largest and most modern foundries in Turkey, producing mainly for export, makes a new investment. The Project includes two new HWS molding plants, the according Eirich sand processing with vacuum mixers and two custom shakeouts followed by manipulator supported cast processing technology. Als Trennrinnen kommen 2×2 Trennrinnen mit elektronischer Schwingparametereinstellmöglichkeit zum Einsatz. Empfindliche Gussteile, die für die Behandlung auf einer Trennrinne nicht geeignet sind, können per Manipulator auf eine parallel verlaufende Softhandlingstrecke übersetzt werden. So werden Oberflächenschäden vermieden. Auf der nachgeschalteten Lese- und Sortierrinne wird mittels Manipulator Kreislaufmaterial vom Gussteil getrennt und dann auf eine Hängebahnstrahlanlage transferiert.
JOEST USA hat im Herbst 2021 die Zusammenlegung der Produktionskapazitäten mit Goessling USA abgeschlossen, nachdem die beiden Unternehmen im Frühjahr dieses Jahres kommerziell integriert wurden. Was 2006 mit einem einzigen, 500 Quadratmeter großen Büro im Großraum Chicago begann, hat sich inzwischen zu einem der größten nordamerikanischen Hersteller von Maschinen und Anlagen im Bereich der Förder-, Sieb- und Lufttrenntechnik sowie Hebe- und Kipptechnik entwickelt. Im November 2021 schloss JOEST eine über 1.500 Quadratmeter große Erweiterung der Produktionsstätte in Piney Flats, TN, ab. Mit dieser Erweiterung wurde die Produktionsfläche mehr als verdoppelt und die Produktionshöhe und Krankapazität erhöht, um noch größere Siebe und längere Scharniergurtförderer in den USA bauen zu können.
In June this year, JOEST delivered a customized solution for casted pan dosing to a German client. This specially designed alloy plant features a remarkable dosing precision for aggregates. The client’s demand was to achieve the best precision possible when dosing the two components manganese-iron and silicon-iron. The two hoppers are loaded with the aggregates by the client. Dosing feeders then feed the two container wagons. The wagons are pre-dosed to roughly 20 kg to speed up the actual dosing process. The downstream feeder, which can pivot by 90°, then feeds the material directly into the pouring stream. Depending on the aggregate, the system is designed to dose between 5 and 10 kg and each scale reaches a precision of up to 50 grams.
After several vigorous meetings with the client from the Netherlands, JOEST was given the order to manufacture a large drying system. Extruded Cereal Products B.V. is a large producer of extruded cereal and protein products for the food- and animal feed industries. The client was looking for a plant to dry wheat-based extrudates which vary in size and shape, composition, moisture and temperature. The existing factory offered very little room for the plant. As a solution, JOEST delivered an extremely compact plant that was based on previous deliveries and optimizations in 2004 and 2014. The system covers four levels of the factory and uses a sophisticated pipeline layout to make the most of the available space. Its main components are a JOEST Fluidized Bed Dryer, a downstream screen, the required processing technology, ventilation equipment and the electronic control featuring a process visualization. The ventilation equipment includes fans, a steam air heater, cyclones, pipelines and an exhaust air heat exchanger.
Once again, GOESSLING delivers its well proven conveying technology to Mexico for a client that already has multiple conveyors in operation around the world. For the disposal and separation of stamping scrap from manufacturing car bodies, the client relies on the quality and good experience with GOESSLING again. The objective here was to sort and dispose aluminum and steel scrap from a total of six steel presses. GOESSLING designed and manufactured eight Hinged Belt Conveyors with a combined length of 130 meters, a partition of 125 mm and an effective width of 1,025 mm. The sidewalls are specially designed for sheet metal scrap. The precision sidewalls of the steel hinged belt and the machined steel bar on the belt frame create a hermetical seal around the circulating curbs and drive chains of the conveyor. Additionally, the material is kept within the effective conveying width and material jams are prevented. The Hinged Belt Convey or is equipped with robust, low maintenance technology.
This year, JOEST manufactured a 42-meter-long Casting Cooler for a client. The cooler was designed as a mass compensated resonance machine for the shock-free cooling of truck motor blocks in a continuous production flow. It is located after a green sand molding plant that produces 60 parts an hour with a weight of up to 550 kg per piece. The Casting Cooler cools these motor blocks from 400 °C down to 100 °C. A radiation pyrometer measures the temperature of the parts. From a machine dynamics standpoint, the Casting Cooler is equipped with active, synchronized vibration dampers. They are sub resonantly harmonized and feature an eccentric slider-crank drive. Open at the feed and discharge ends, the machine has a near airtight hood that forms an ideal flow channel. The air injection nozzle creates a strong air flow through this channel. The counter flow principle enables a direct convective heat exchange between the casting parts and the cooling air, resulting in a shock-free cooling process.
JOEST manufactured two automaticfeed systems to convey, sort and feedwelding studs and flange nuts. Thesystems are built up of an overheadconveyor with a link chain, a storage container, a linear feeder and a workpiece recirculation. The workpieces are provided manually in a storage container with an effective volume of 320 liters. The container has a steel design and is lined with PU plates. It also features a filling level indicator. The parts are presorted by workpiece specific carrier rails, conveyed upwards and fed into a linear feeder. The linear feeder is equipped with two parallel sorting feeders. On these feed-ers, alignment mechanisms force the workpieces into the correct orientation. Excess or falsely orientated parts are rejected by the linear feeder and are recirculated to the storage container. The sorting feeders are equipped with pneumatic deflectors to prevent the magazine from overflowing and to control the feeding lane in case a screw is left out.

In this year’s spring, JOEST delivered Lifting and Tipping Technology in the form of a Lift and Swivel Column to Leinefelde. The client requested a solution to automatically load and unload annealing ovens with Heson stackable containers. All the equipment was to be placed in a single cell and enclosed by a safety fence. JOEST designed and manufactured an ideal client solution using Lift-ing- and Tipping Technology as well as Magnetic- and Trough-Type-Feeders. The stacking containers are fed into the system on one side by the client. On the other side, the container filled with tempered parts can be removed. The entire loading and unloading process of the oven is fully automated. The container is docked to the load handling attachment of the Lift and Swivel Column, type MSH. The machine lifts the container over a JOEST Trough-Type-Feeder, turns by 180 °C and dips into the feeder as far as possible. Until the machine reaches its final position, the parts are held back by a hydraulic flap. Once the flap has opened, the machine slowly retreats, and a small unbalances motor helps with the residual discharge.

On Sunday September 12th 2021 the Volksbank-Muenster-Marathon took place for the 19th time. 7.500 runners participated with 5.000 of which were running as a relay. Due to the pandemic the Marathon was cancelled last year which made this year a very special event. JOEST was represented at the marathon by a total of nine runners, so two relay teams and one full marathon runner. The colleagues work in several different departments. Design engineers, sales workers, apprentices, commercial workers and managing partner were part of the #JOESTeam.
Your best time was the motto of this year’s marathon and every JOESTrunner crossed the finish line goodhumored. The complete marathon was finished by our colleague in 03:26:01. The first relay finished after 03:44:41 and the second relay crossed the finish line after 03:49:01. For many people running is an individual sport but it´s even more fun in a team. The two relays show how important team spirit is and how motivated our colleagues represented the #JOESTeam in Muenster.
After several conversations with managing partners Dr. Hans Moormann and Dr. Marcus Wirtz Mona Neubaur was surprised how international this family business is. “I wish there was more interest by the governing politicians regarding the challenges in the industry” she said after visiting several industry businesses in NRW. One cannot just demand sustainability and reduction of CO2 usage, one has to engage with the involved parties. This is the only way to achieve acceptance, Neubaur said. With great interest Neubaur learned about the numerous applications of the vibrating machines the world market leader produces in Duelmen and other locations around the world. Those include the recycling of scrap, paper and glass as well as the mining of Lithium in Australia for electro mobility. The managing partners assured that for future projects a special focus on sustainability and reduction of CO2 usage will be set even more so than already today.
Last year, JOEST got the order for the third cooling line of the Melos GmbH in Osnabrueck, a manufacturerof EPDM-granulates and cable compounds. The first order of this sequel was placed back in 2016. Melos is a leading manufacturer of plastics for sport- and playground surfaces. They use their know-how to develop custom solutions for various plastic applications including the cable industry and many more. The core of the plant is a JOEST Fluidized Bed Dryer, a Markus Dieckmann, Project Engineer, Melos GmbH GERMANY. Third order in a row for JOEST. Large plant for cooling and screening of EPDM-granulates processing and exhaust air system including pipelines, and a JOEST Feeder. For the demanded cooling of EPDMand EVA-granulates as well as PE-compounds, JOEST designed and manufactured a Fluidized Bed Dryer that is tailored to the application.
For a client building a phosphatizing plant as a general contractor for a German automotive company, JOEST designed, manufactured and delivered a large system solution this year, to feed and refill the plant. The project started in 2019 but was temporarily set on hold due to the Covid-Pandemic. It was later picked up again and went into production this year. The task was to dose forging parts into baskets provided by the client, based on the demanded formula. The parts are supplied in two different steel containers. The filled baskets are fed into the phosphatizing bath. After the phosphatizing process, the containers are removed and emptied.

Turning first soil was in December 2019 with the architect, the contractor Robert Biagioni Constructions and Ian Laws, Managing Partner of JOEST Australia. Construction work finished in August 2020 and the keys were handed to Ian Laws, allowing the preparations for the relocation to start. The company had worked successfully at the old facility in Sheffield Road, Welshpool for over 15 years. Especially in the mining industry, the rising demand for larger machines required a new facility after the old one exceeded its capacities. The new facility is located in a giant logistic park at Coldwell Road. This new location enables faster and more efficient manufacturing of machines and also helps meet the clients’ rising demands.

On August 2nd, 2021 JOEST welcomed the new training year. After a short welcome by the owner, a guided tour of the factory premises and an introduction to the operational processes as well as a safety briefing, the first working day started in the specific departments. Over the next few months, the soon-to be industrial clerks, technical product designers and design mechanics will pass through the various divisions of the JOEST group. These insights into the various company divisions provide the trainees with the best possible training as competent and committed employees are the basis for success. That is the motto at the JOEST group. JOEST wishes all trainees a successful start to their professional lives!
During that time, I was able to gain a good insight into all areas of an industrial company. The focus was on the commercial areas of course, but an insight into the industrial areas was also included. JOEST sets value on its trainees getting a good overview and understanding the portfolio in order to better identify themselves with the company. I prepared my final report in purchasing, where I was offered a permanent employment in early 2018 after completing the 2,5-year traineeship. Having gained some first experience, I changed to technical sales in mid 2019. Since then, I have been working on Key Account Management in Recycling and Resources. I enjoy assisting our key clients because of the close cooperation as partners and the potential of optimizing client processes.
What do you need to achieve higher precision and purity in metal recycling? With the innovation of the J-Flow by JOEST, the answer is simple: Not a lot. The new compact Air Separator proves that for simple applications, machine size and investment costs can be significantly reduced – increasing simplicity and efficiency in the process. As a gravity separator, the J-Flow separates heavy parts from lightweight ones in an air stream. It is used for subsequent cleaning of metal fractions (ASR processing) to separate foils, fab-rics, lint, foam, Styrofoam and other light materials without losing to much metal. The operational grain sizes for the process are between 10 and 120 mm and long parts up to 300 mm.
For a client from the foundry industry based in Croatia, JOEST designed and manufactured a Shakeout. Its frequency and oscillation angle can be adjusted electronically, and this design includes a downstream feeder with dual-lane discharge. The machines were delivered to Croatia during the second fiscal quarter of 2021. Commissioning is performed and overseen by JOEST and is planned for this summer. The client ‘s demand was to provide a reliable Shakeout that could handle a large spectrum of parts whilst maintaining a small form factor due to space limitations on site. The machine should separate as much sand as possible without damaging the casts made of GERMANY. Cast-/Sand-Shakeout after green sand forming line. De-oiling, washing, cleaning and drying in a single machine…
For a client in the Netherlands, JOEST delivered a Standard Lifting and Tipping Device from the MD series that will feed an in-house recycling plant. All of the included accessories were customized to the client’s requests and the company’s factory regulations. Production waste is delivered to the client in large garbage containers and is transported and fed into a shredder. The garbage containers on wheels are manually pushed inside a Lifting and Tipping Device and then emptied into the shredder. JOEST designed a Lifting and Tipping Device MD-8 with accessories customized to the client.
JOEST delivered two Lifting and Tipping Devices from the MD series with specially designed load handling attachments to a client in Germany. The machines run on rail tracks so they can easily change between different feeding points. This customized solution that is tailored to the client’s needs, meets highest standards in quality and reliability. The client was searching for a solution to empty 200-liter steel barrels filled toxic bulk material of various grain sizes into a ball mill and a mixer. The main criterion was for the process to run as dust-free as possible. JOEST’s solution was to equip two Lifting and Tipping Devices from the series MD-6 with specially developed load handling attachments. The new design prevents most of the toxic dust from escaping the system. The entire load handling attachment is in a dust-tight enclosure and features a stainless-steel funnel with a pneumatic cover flap.
As part of their further training, a group of mechanical technicians from the Pictorius Berufskolleg in Coesfeld successfully completed their final project at JÖST GmbH + Co. KG…
The internship in Marketing was exciting and I had a lot of fun learning new things. I also visited the areas sales and accounting, in which I was able to discover lots about the job as an Industrial Clerk. It was a great alternation from my school routine. I got the idea of completing my twoweek internship at JOEST, because I had never been in an office during my prior internship days. The Internship was very good for gaining new experience and preparing for my professional life. Sitting a lot was tiring at first – but I got used to that pretty quickly. The tasks I was given were wellmanageable and never boring, since they varied a lot and were challenging enough. My tasks included e.g., helping to design a new website and creating a flyer for the recruitment of new trainees. My time at JOEST was very nice and helped me get closer to my goal: Finding the right job.
JOEST Australia was founded in January 2001, and since this time where JOEST operated from a leased office space in Kewdale, growth has seen that larger facilities were needed to build big machines for the mining industry sector. It wasn’t long until in 2002, with some success in the mining sector in WA & NSW, JOEST decided to lease a larger factory area to enable the new subsidiary to assemble and test machines in house. A 500 m² workshop in Moriarty Road, Welshpool was leased. In 2006 JOEST moved to a new facility in Sheffield Road with approximately 1200 m² of factory space serviced by 2 x 10 tonne overhead cranes. Each relocation enabled JOEST Australia to take more orders and build a team to service the growing population of JOEST vibrating machines in the Australian market. In the following years with the increase in order volume, and size of the vibrating screens, it became clear JOEST Australia needed larger purpose-built facilities. Major projects with the tier one iron ore producers located in the Pilbara region of Western Australia fuelled the growth. High quality engineered products with a customer focused team brought more work to JOEST.

Working at JOEST
On Sunday, the #JOESTeam participated in the Münster Marathon with three relay teams – alongside over 11,000 runners. At JOEST, it’s not just about professional excellence but also about tackling challenges together as a team. The marathon was the perfect opportunity to demonstrate that spirit.
This year, our JOEST Kickers enthusiastically took part in the Village Cup organized by DJK Adler Buldern. The tournament provided the perfect opportunity to showcase our competitive spirit and grow even closer as a team.
Under the motto #JOESTogether, we organized for the first time an EM pack-watching on our site. It was a fantastic event where we celebrated our community and team spirit.

On the occasion of the #JOESTeam day, the Managing Directors Dr. Hans Moormann and Dr. Marcus Wirtz invited all employees
to fresh burger and fries and thus said thank you for their daily commitment, dedication and team spirit.
On the occasion of the first apprentice day, the doors opened for many potential new apprentices.
We had about 400 visitors that day, 184 of whom were potential new apprentices. The visitors could learn something about the company during on of the company tours.
Hello, my name is Jonas Leufke, I am 22 years old and completed my 3-year apprenticeship as an Industrial Clerk at JOEST this year. After my apprenticeship I was hired by JOEST and am now part of the accounting team. An apprenticeship at JOEST offers a large variety of everything! I got to know 14 different departments on my way to becoming an Industrial Clerk. This gives you complete insight into an entire company and its processes from storage to controlling. A great help is the trust put forward by the colleagues: You don’t only scratch the surface. Instead, you look deep into specialized tasks of a department by yourself.
My name is Leonie, and I started my apprenticeship as an Industrial Clerk with JOEST in August 2019. After the first few formalities, I started my training at the reception. Here I built my first connections with various departments and learned about the correspondence with national and international clients, in written form and via telephone. During my apprenticeship I passed through different departments such as Accounting, HR, Sales, Marketing, Purchasing and many more. They gave me deep insight into the different processes and how they overlap. From the first day on, I received challenging tasks that I could work on by myself. If I ever had any questions, I could always count on my colleagues.
Eleven members, all JOEST employees, now form the new Work Council. From now on, they will represent the interests of your colleagues in front of the management. The collaboration on and drafting of work agreements as well as their coordination are also among the tasks of the Work Council team. The whole #JOESTeam wishes you a lot of success in the execution and implementation of the new tasks and thanks for the commitment.
In mid-November, all employees of JOEST from the company locations Duelmen and Schermbeck were invited by the worker’s council to the works meeting. After an introduction by the chairwoman of the worker’s council Anna Riering and her representative Frank Geilmann, the managing partners Dr. Hans Moormann and Dr. Marcus Wirtz reported on the past fiscal year and the plans for 2023.
Every two years, the Youth and Trainee Representation is elected. With the goal of representing the rights and interests of trainees and young people in the company vis-à-vis the management and department heads, three members are elected for the next two years: Leonie Scheffler as chairwoman supported by Simon Eigen and Jonas Oppermann. The office was gratefully accepted by them all. With motivation and ambition, the team wants to represent the interests of their colleagues in the coming years.
The JOEST Can Do Award was presented for the first time in November 2022. Based on the original company suggestion scheme, the JOEST Can Do Award was introduced for all JOEST employees.
I am Simon Eigen, 21 years old and I started my apprenticeship as an Industrial Clerk at JOEST in Buldern in August 2021. I have been here for one and a half years now and had the chance to experience various departments and their workflows. After my first day of getting to know the company with a tour of the headquarters, I started my apprenticeship in the registry. After 2 months of organizing folder traffic throughout the company, I was reassigned to the reception. This was ideal to get to know my colleagues and their jurisdictions in the company. Having learned about the basic workflows, I then went on to the sales department for foundries. Besides writing offers and order confirmations, I had the opportunity to work on an experiment with aluminum dross at the JOEST Test Center. This was very interesting and gave me the chance to see JOEST machines in action. The two months here passed by very quickly and were followed by the storage facility and quality control on the shop floor.
As always, the new training year starts on August, 1st and the #JOESTeam is happy to welcome eight apprentices this year. The day started in the morning with a guided tour of the factory premises and an introduction to the operational processes. This was followed by a first safety briefing for the newcomers. Exciting years are now beginning for the new apprentices, as they will be passing through different departments in the coming months to get to know the different divisions of the JOEST group as best as possible.
JOEST wishes the aspiring industrial clerks, construction mechanics, product designers and dual students a successful start to their professional lives!
My name is Anna Bettinger, I am 14 years old and I go to the Clemens-Brentano Gymnasium in Duelmen. I did my two-week internship here at JOEST from January 17 to 28, 2022. I really enjoyed the internship, because I kept learning new things and so I never got bored. I chose this internship, because I wanted to know what an office day in marketing looks like and what kind of tasks you have there. I was also interested in how to edit and design websites or how to create flyers or logos, for example. At the beginning, it was quite exhausting to sit all day in front of a screen, but with time I got used to it. My tasks were very diversified and I really enjoyed them. My tasks included, for example, designing a flyer to recruit trainees or editing websites. I had also the chance to help cutting and editing a video.
We congratulate Jan Jasper, Sebastian Krevert, Sandor Heiß and Jannis Flossbach on successfully finishing their apprenticeship! The now former JOEST trainees were trained as construction mechanics in the last few years and have now been taken over in different departments. So they remain part of the #JOESTeam.
On August 2nd, 2021 JOEST welcomed the new training year. After a short welcome by the owner, a guided tour of the factory premises and an introduction to the operational processes as well as a safety briefing, the first working day started in the specific departments. Over the next few months, the soon-to be industrial clerks, technical product designers and design mechanics will pass through the various divisions of the JOEST group. These insights into the various company divisions provide the trainees with the best possible training as competent and committed employees are the basis for success. That is the motto at the JOEST group. JOEST wishes all trainees a successful start to their professional lives!
During that time, I was able to gain a good insight into all areas of an industrial company. The focus was on the commercial areas of course, but an insight into the industrial areas was also included. JOEST sets value on its trainees getting a good overview and understanding the portfolio in order to better identify themselves with the company. I prepared my final report in purchasing, where I was offered a permanent employment in early 2018 after completing the 2,5-year traineeship. Having gained some first experience, I changed to technical sales in mid 2019. Since then, I have been working on Key Account Management in Recycling and Resources. I enjoy assisting our key clients because of the close cooperation as partners and the potential of optimizing client processes.
