Internship at JOEST
My name is NOIRET Garance, I am 21 years old and I am a French student. As part of my engineering studies in 4th year in Energy Mechanics I had the opportunity to do my internship abroad at the company JOEST in Germany.
During this internship I could not only learn about the method of discrete elements and the operation of many vibrating machines, but also saw how life was in a German company!
I was really happy to have discovered so many new things about vibration transport and how a company of this size is organized. But fortunately I have so many new things to discover about it!
The atmosphere within the enterprise is very warm because the employees of JOEST were very welcoming with me and even tried sometimes to talk to me in French!
It was a very interesting cultural discovery because I could discover how the Germans organized themselves in their company and see what they could eat at the bistro! I thought it was a good thing to have a cafeteria where all the employees can meet up for a good German meal. I had the opportunity to "perfect" my German at lunch by ordering my meal but also to taste curry wurst or other German specialties.
To conclude, I would like to thank Armin Krey who, without him, this internship would not have been possible.
But I also thank Thomas Hypki and Dr. Fabian Westbrink for their big help during my stay!
I hope to keep in touch with every person I met during this internship!
