Tomasz Czapla
Can you start by telling us a little about your background and how you came to represent our company in Poland?
I have graduated faculty of foundry engineering and have been working in the foundry sector for over 10 years. From the beginning of my activity, I have felt good in direct contact with customers, the possibility of joint search for the best solutions in order to improve the quality and efficiency of the customer's plant.
What do you see as the biggest opportunities for selling our machines in Poland?
From the very beginning, when I got to know the machines and solutions of JOEST, I was certain that it was the right product for our Polish plants. For some time now, we have been observing continuous progress in equipping foundries. Due to the fact that Poland is a country on the rise after difficult years before the political transformation where at the beginning customers were looking for any solution and the main factor of choice was the low price, now it has changed dramatically. Customers are now looking for the best, reliable solutions for many years of use, this is exactly what JOEST offers.
How do you approach building relationships with potential clients in Poland?
As a company with over 20 years of experience in the foundry sector, we have established many great long-term contacts, The company has also been active for years in the casting business and sale of ready, finished machined products, so we know where to find potential and who we can help improve production. It is a kind of synergy of businesses.
"I am very happy that JOEST is active also in other sectors like recycling or mining. This JOEST experience is beneficial and some solutions can be used and adapted from one sector to another."
MWhat are some challenges you face in the Polish market, and how do you overcome them?
The most noticeable is currently the competition from the Far East. We believe that we must protect our European market and adapt common EU regulations in such way as to protect the regional heavy industry in which both Germany and Poland have great traditions.
What excites you the most about working with us and our products?
I am very happy that JOEST is active also in other sectors like recycling or mining. This JOEST experience is beneficial and some solutions can be used and adapted from one sector to another. The multitude of solutions positively surprises and gives me the certainty of finding a solution for my customers.
Which industries or projects are the most significant for JOEST in Poland?
I am sure that JOEST will be successful in all areas of industry for which they produce solutions. I am pleased that this year and the next we will be implementing fantastic solutions together with JOEST in Poland – from the process of knocking out castings through cooling castings, ending with proper sorting. Two very serious Polish foundries will be happy owners of JOEST solutions soon. The foundry industry in which we specialize will certainly bring JOEST a lot of interesting investments in the upcoming years.
Finally, a personal question. What do you do when you're not working?
I try to spend free time actively outside, love to run especially in the forests or a little tennis in the summer and skiing in winter. I recently got a small 3D printer and in my free time I also try to learn about the possibilities and advantages of 3D printing.
