JOEST and HYDROTEC Technologies AG:
A Successful Partnership for Innovative Foundry Technology
At JOEST, we take pride in optimizing our customers' production with innovative technologies and customized solutions. A recent example is our collaboration with HYDROTEC Technologies AG, an internationally operating company with over 50 years of experience and a clear vision: to continuously improve. Since 1968, HYDROTEC has been synonymous with top quality and innovative products, which are now used worldwide – from manhole covers and rainwater management solutions to modern street furniture. To expand their production capacity and establish a state-of-the-art foundry in Wildeshausen, Germany, HYDROTEC chose us as their partner.
A Customized Plant Concept
Our task was to deliver powerful, reliable vibration technology for the new foundry that meets HYDROTEC's high standards. We developed a turnkey system integrated directly behind the molding plant.
The JOEST machines we supplied include:
- JOEST Mold Dump Feeder behind the molding plant, efficiently transporting the molding material.
- JOEST Shakeout with adjustable vibration angle and speed, ensuring maximum flexibility in processing the cast products.
- JOEST Casting Cooler with a radial fan, providing the necessary cooling for the cast products.
- JOEST Conveyor between the casting cooler and blast machine, preparing the cast parts for the next processing step.
- JOEST Sand Conveyor below the shakeout conveyor, cleanly and efficiently collecting the sand.
Additionally, we provided design drawings for the supporting steel structure and material transfer chutes.
Additionally, we provided design drawings for the supporting steel structure and material transfer chutes. HYDROTEC sourced the steel themselves to purchase larger quantities more cost-effectively – a great example of the collaborative partnership, where we tailored the project to meet the customer’s specific needs.
A Worry-Free Package for HYDROTEC
Our scope of services extended far beyond delivering the machines. JOEST handled the complete mechanical and electrical installation, as well as the commissioning of the equipment. We also supplied a control system that perfectly interfaces with the upstream, downstream, and overarching peripherals. This ensured seamless integration into the existing infrastructure and enabled efficient, smooth production.
What was especially impressive about this project was the smooth cooperation – despite the challenges posed by the current geopolitical situation. This "greenfield project" was realized without involving an external planning office. This was only possible thanks to the close coordination and long-standing experience of both companies.
