CONVEYING food sugar

In February, JOEST secured an order for the delivery of a specialized 15-meter-long vibrating conveyor for a Serbian producer of sugar products. This machine is an integral part of the production process, conveying freshly centrifuged sugar with a throughput of up to 70 tons per hour at a moisture content of 0,2-0,4% and a product temperature of about 65°C. The vibrating conveyor transports the sugar into a subsequent bucket elevator. The particular challenge of this project was not only the machine's performance but also the spatial constraints, as the machine had to be delivered in three sections due to limited installation space and then reassembled on-site.

The customer, a Serbian producer whose products are primarily used in the beverage and confectionary industry, urgently needed the machine to be fully operational in time for the 2024 sugar campaign. The delivery was scheduled for mid-July, meaning a lead time of less than six months. Thanks to smooth execution, the tight schedule was met and the vibrating conveyor was delivered on time. The machine serves as a critical interface in the customer's production process and any delay in delivery could have negatively impacted the entire sugar campaign for the year. Therefore, timely delivery and successful commissioning were crucial.

JOEST On-Site Support for Commissioning

After the on-time delivery, JOEST was also on-site for the assembly of the vibrating conveyor to ensure smooth operation and proper execution of all installation work. At the start of the 2024 sugar campaign, JOEST was again on-site to ensure the proper functioning of the system and that the customer's production began smoothly.

Replacement of an Aging Machine

The customer had previously been using a JOEST machine that had aged over time. Therefore, the customer decided to replace the old machine with a new vibrating conveyor. Weighing 15,200 kg and featuring a trough made entirely of stainless steel, the new machine is now a central component of the customer’s sugar production process.

Thanks to the quick and efficient implementation, as well as the comprehensive support from JOEST, this project was successfully completed. The vibrating conveyor now plays a vital role as an interface in the production process, and the customer is well-prepared for future sugar campaigns with a reliable and long-lasting machine.

As a specialist in the chemical and food industries, as well as stainless steel processing, JOEST is committed to quality and innovation. To further strengthen this commitment, the JOEST group is currently constructing a new, state-of-the-art stainless steel production facility at its headquarters in Duelmen-Buldern. This expansion enables us to respond even more efficiently to the needs of our customers, providing durable, customized solutions for their demanding production processes.
